* What is Active Voice?

When the subject of the sentence performs the action expressed by the verb then it is Active Voice.For Example: “Ram ate an apple”. Here “Ram ” is the subject performing the action”ate”.

* What is Passive Voice?

When the subject of the sentence receives the action expressed by the verb or is acted upon then it is Passive Voice.For Example: “An apple was eaten by Ram.” Here, ” an apple ” is the subject receiving the action “was eaten”.

NOTE: Generally, there is no voice change with Present Perfect Continuous, Past Perfect Continuous, Future Continuous, or Future Perfect Continuous.

Present Tense

Active voice > I eat a mango.

Passive voice > A mango is eaten by me.

Active voice > I am eating a mango.

Passive voice > A mango is being eaten by me.

Active voice > somebody has invited me.

Passive voice > I have been invited.

Active voice > I have been eating a mango.

Passive voice > A mango has been being eaten by me.

Past Tense

Active voice > I ate a mango.

Passive voice > A mango was eaten by me.

Active voice > I was eating a mango.

Passive voice > A mango was being eaten by me.

Active voice > I had helped the ram.

Passive voice > The ram had been helped by me.

Active voice > He had been playing the match.

Passive voice > The had been being played by him.

Future Tense

Active voice > You will help me.

Passive voice > I shall be helped by you.

Active voice > My mother will be cooking food.

Passive voice > Food will be being cooked by my mother.

Active voice > I will have been written a letter.

Passive voice > A letter will have been written by me.

Active voice > I will have been writing a letter.

Passive voice > A letter will have been being written by me.

Passive voice of interrogative sentence

Active voice > Does he helped you ?

Passive voice > Are you helped by him

Active voice > Did he win the prize ?

Passive voice > Was the prize won by him.

Active voice > Are you calling me ?

Passive voice > Am I being called by you.

Active voice > will you help me ?

Passive voice > Shall I helped by you.

* Here auxiliary verb is according to question word.

Active voice > Who helps you ?

Passive voice > By whom are you helped.

Active voice > Who helped you ?

Passive voice > By whom were you helped.
